To celebrate its 90th anniversary, the crocodile gave the queen of upcycling carte blanche. The result? Spectacular creations, visible to all.

Love at first sight Couture

" Deconstruct to better reconstruct ": such is the motto of Freaky Debbie, a young Parisian designer at the helm of the House Of P agency and the Rework Paris label. In 2020, she had already captured the crocodile's heart with an incredible 'Lacoste cap-dress.'

To celebrate its 90th anniversary, the brand once again turned to Freaky Debbie.

Five Lacoste iconics – the polo shirt, the tracksuit, the V-neck sweater, the bum bag, and the Girolle cap – have been reinvented by the queen of upcycling. More than high-fashion pieces, discover true works of art.

Artistic pieces on show

On the top floor of the Champs-Élysées flagship store, four distinctive pieces are showcased: the 'crocomono,' a kimono crafted by Freaky Debbie from three Lacoste tracksuits; the 'sweater-dress,' a dress created from about twenty Lacoste V-neck sweaters; the 'bum bag-puffer jacket,' a puffer jacket made from sixty Lacoste bum bags sewn and assembled into bricks; and the 'tracksuit-polo,' a hybrid ensemble that combines a tracksuit and a polo into a single piece. A new 'cap-dress' is also on display: inspired by a tennis dress, this unique creation made from several Girolle caps blends craftsmanship and sportswear for a spectacular outcome.

A crinoline dress at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs

As the main partner of the exhibition « Mode et Sport, d’un podium à l’autre », on view at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris until April 7th, 2024, Lacoste is in the spotlight... with a crinoline dress signed by Freaky Debbie. Displayed in the exhibition's aisles and chosen to illustrate the event’s official poster, the flagship piece of the new Lacoste X Freaky Debbie collab is the centre of attention. Made from 'piqué' scraps, the emblematic fabric of the Lacoste polo, it bridges the gap between past and present. Redefining the future of fashion.
